November 23, 2022

8:35

Motown legend Marvin Gaye had been out of the mainstream living in Europe when he was courted by Larkin Arnold, an executive at Columbia records. Marvin switched labels and recorded “Sexual Healing” which became the biggest hit of his long career.  This episode is an excerpt of a series of interviews Carl recorded with the music icon in Los Angeles in January 1983, and Marvin was riding high and happy to talk about the magic and mystery of writing songs comparing it to being a painter. “I really wish I knew how it happens,” he said.
